CHICAGO, IL -- Two people were injured Tuesday morning when a car crashed into a restaurant in Chicago's McKinley Park neighborhood, according to ABC7 Chicago

The incident took place in the area of West 35th Place and South Western Boulevard, shortly after 7:00 a.m.

While the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, footage taken at the scene shows two damaged vehicles. One car was found to have struck the building and the other was observed at rest in the roadway.

Chicago Fire Department officials said two patients were transported to a local hospital, but the extent of injuries sustained was not immediately disclosed. It was unclear whether the patients were occupants of the striking vehicle or of the restaurant.
