COOK COUNTY, IL -- Officials responded to a crash Thursday morning that shut down part of southbound Route 83 for over two hours near Hinsdale, according to TTWN Chicago

The crash impacted the southbound lanes from East Ogden Avenue (U.S. Highway 34) to 63rd Street. It was first reported by TTWN at 7:10 a.m.

While the cause of the accident was not immediately clear, the closure remained in place for at least 2.5 hours, suggesting a more involved emergency response.

As of this writing, local agencies have not indicated the number of vehicles involved or confirmed any major injuries in the event.
