CHICAGO, IL - A man from Naperville has been charged in connection to a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a cyclist in West Chicago on Tuesday night. 

According to WLS, 40-year-old Renato Vargas-Gutierrez was riding his bicycle on Joliet Street near Wilson Street when he was hit by a vehicle driven by 26-year-old John C. Gray.

Gray initially fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later near Stevens Court and Continental Drive. He has since been charged with one felony count of failure to report an accident causing death.

Gray's bond was set at $500,000 on Thursday.
