Driver charged in deadly hit-and-run involving cyclist in West Chicago

CHICAGO, IL - A man from Naperville has been charged in connection to a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a cyclist in West Chicago on Tuesday night. 

According to WLS, 40-year-old Renato Vargas-Gutierrez was riding his bicycle on Joliet Street near Wilson Street when he was hit by a vehicle driven by 26-year-old John C. Gray.

Teen struck, killed in West Chicago hit-and-run

CHICAGO, IL - A teen was fatally struck by a vehicle in West Chicago on Wednesday evening.

According to a report by WLS, the victim, a 16-year-old from Aurora, was walking in the area of Hawthorne Lane and Wild Ginger Trail when he was hit at about 6 p.m. 

The teen sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Head-on collision in Elmhurst kills woman, injures 2 children

ELMHURST, IL - A major collision involving two SUVs in Elmhurst this morning resulted in the death of a woman and left multiple children injured. 

According to a report by WGN, a Chevrolet SUV was heading east on St. Charles Road at about 5:05 a.m. when it crossed into the oncoming lanes and slammed head-on into an Audi SUV near Hill Street.

2 critically injured in crash with semi-truck on I-94 at Taylor St.

CHICAGO, IL - A collision involving a semi-truck near the UIC campus on Friday morning left two people seriously injured. 

According to WLS, a passenger vehicle collided with the semi-truck in the southbound lanes of the interstate near the Taylor Street overpass at about 1:15 a.m.

Multi-vehicle crash involving ambulance in Tri-Taylor injures 4

CHOCAGO, IL - Four people were sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash sent an ambulance into a building in Chicago's Tri-Taylor neighborhood on Thursday morning. 

According to WLS, a sedan failed to yield to the ambulance, which was transporting a patient with lights and sirens active, in the 2300 block of West Harrison Road at about 7:15 p.m. The two vehicles collided, causing the ambulance to hit a nearby parked vehicle before it crashed into a building.

Wrong-way crash on I-55 in Wilmington kills 2, injures 4

WILMINGTON, IL - A collision caused by a wrong-way driver on I-55 in Wilmington left two people dead and four others, including three children, injured Tuesday night. 

According to WGN, the crash took place at about 9:50 p.m. when a black Ford F-150 heading north in the southbound lanes of the interstate collided with a southbound GMC Yukon near Lorenzo Road. The GMC was then hit by a tractor-trailer that was following behind.
